Our members share a common passion for promoting media freedom and quality journalism in Ethiopia. By becoming a member of the Guild, you can benefit from our professional development and educational opportunities, resources and tools to succeed in your career and niche in the media. We are proud to be able to offer our members regular guidance, support, and resources, and we invite you to join us in our mission of creating a better media environment and to help empower the gatekeepers of media houses in Ethiopia.
One of EGE’s core intervention area is ensuring the safety of journalists in Ethiopia. We strongly believe that violations on media freedom in Ethiopia deserve a better attention by authorities and those attacking the media are brought to the book. With support from our partners, we monitor attacks on journalists, issue statements, advocate for remedies and publish annual reports on the safety status of Ethiopian journalists. Our approaches give a special emphasis of attacks on women journalists in Ethiopia.
Through this interactive portal, EGE documents any incident of violation on media workers and media houses across Ethiopia. The documented alerts are then verified and analyzed for further solution interventions.
At EGE, we consider your support invaluable in safeguarding press freedom and raising the standards of quality and ethical journalism in Ethiopia. Together, we can create a nationwide vibrant and free media landscape.
